My mom is a hard woman to shop for. I know that she would love to read if only she could find something that she’s interested in. She’s just very shallow and she says she has a short attention span (it’s just an excuse not to read) but she reads magazine articles. The only books I see her read are diet books and books on natural healing, Food Addiction, Organic and Natural foods, mercury poisoning, thyroid problems, and menopause. So its pretty hard to find a fiction book that’s exciting and interesting concerning these topics unless its written by a hypochondriac with weight problems.
On the other hand she likes decorating and real estate and rich people and really shallow chick flick movies with dianne keaton and meg ryan. She also loves NYC and anything to do with the rich snobs who live in upper east manhattan…. but she grew up in brooklyn.
maybe i’ll just get her some chick-lit but I want it to be something that will hold her attention. Anyone have any ideas?

try her on a book ..2-3 yrs old now..you can still get it, tho…titled "running with scissors"…i think she would read a few pages & get hooked;it is that good..some serious stuff, tons of funny stuff in it….just a thought;i pronmise, it is an excellent book;you would love it, too…judy ptgs_jred hey, let me know..at caat-humane@comcast.net..i am totally new to yahoo..so much to learn;good luck judy

Hi fellow YA!
To those of you under 25 that want to answer: please don’t. While you opinion is valued and your voices important, I need 25+ to answer because the cookies are all for people over the age of 35. Noone under 35 would get the cookies, so the opionions of really young people aren’t relevant in this one case.
Ok…giving out Homemade, Organic, Vegetarian Cookies (noone has food allergies) to my friends and family instead of store bought.
Yes or No?? (comments are ok, to of course)
Thanks!
Oh, and baking cookies like these isn’t cheap. Add in the presentation costs like platters or bows and what not, and there is no money saved.

I think it’s a good idea, as a bunch of us in the office were talking earlier today, home made items says, "I was thinking of you." not just here I bought this because I had to.

Small things to put in a gift mug for my dad?

I need some fairly cheap, small things to put in a mug for my dad for christmas:)
It’s one of his presents, haha.
He can’t eat wheat, so cookies don’t really work and he LOVES organic type stuff so fair trade h ot chocolate is really the only way to go. Does anybody know where you can buy those little packets of hot chocolate, but fair trade? Or any other suggiestions:)
thanks!

how about a wallet size photo of you and he when you were young with each other at christmas time long ago……after all he is still daddy…..and if your dad is anything like most….a quality pocket knife-not one for his belt.//one for his pocket./but make sure it is a quality….stressing quality…..pocket knife

I run a natural & organic baby/children’s website. We are trying to get people to take our survey so we make sure we are offering the services and products people want but so far the interest has been low. The survey is very short, and no personal information is requested, unless you want to leave your email to enter a drawing for a $50 gift card. We do not use or share emails if they are given. Any suggestions on how to reach people who would take the survey? This is the survey, http://survey.constantcontact.com/survey/a07e2n7xo8pg2njrmjr/start

The other day i got a friend request on facebook, from a student who was doing research into bottle/ breast fed babies. i checked out her profile and loads of ppl had taken her servey, plenty of peeps are willing to help, she just went through random ppls profiles on facebook and those who were holding kids / babies in their photo she just added them as a friend with a note explaining about her servey

I would like to have my son (a year old) play with paints on canvas for Christmas gifts. But, I’d like to get him organic, natural paints. I can’t seem to find them in small quantities anywhere except kidbean.com but the are all sold out. Any suggestions?
