I know for sure that The Hub has organic coffee, and about 75% sure that Bibo Coffee does.

Right, I’m sure there must be plenty of good organic shops in London and Surrey and I’m just being blind, but I struggle…I’m looking for fair-priced stores, selling organic/bio quality groceries (proper organic, not supermarket-organic), cosmetics (not containing synthetic stuff – not Lush-like) and household products (perhaps some alternatives to Ecover, plus compostable waste-bags, laundry soap, etc.)
Preferably South & West London & Surrey, but any ideas are good now, I’m quickly running out of supplies…

I don’t know any in South or West London, but I know a couple in North, near Canonbury, Islington! There’s Mother Earth: when you come out from Canonbury overground station you keep going on the street with The Snooty Fox bar on the corner; at the end of this road you turn left and you find that shop on the corner!
It’s big and it has all kind of bio, eco and stuff for the home and food!

I agree about not using organic in the name. It can raise a lot of issues if people want to know the statistics of the production of the products. I like like the whole "Live Fresh" or "Live Natural" or "Fresh Selections" or something like that.

My husband and I are very newbies to organic food. We watched the movie Food, INC. and it’s completely opened our eyes to the reality of where our food comes from. We want to make an effort to buy as organic and local as possible. Unfortunately, we aren’t made of money either so we do have a budget to stick with.

So my question is:
Where should we shop? I’ve heard of Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Henry’s, etc. But I’ve never been to any and so I don’t know what to expect. Do they sell everything you would need, grocery wise? And how are they, cost wise? Which would you recommend we go to?

You will find that they are considerably overpriced and over-rated and are not value for the money.
I would say you could expect 50%-100% more than you will of regular shelf lines.

Not knowing your shops it will be a question shopping around, but New World have the best selection, kept in a separate part of the veggie section.

They only have some fruits and veggies, not a full range.

Farmer’s Markets tend to have the best range of local foods, and some can be bought at the farm gate.
In the case of both of them you will need to check your local newspapers, and as a rule that is very regional as it governed by the local seasons of what is ripe.

I love body shop but I need to know if their products are organic. And what is the difference between natural and organic. Thanks.

With cosmetics there is no organic standard as there is whith food so anything can be called organic in this business. unlike food there is no difference between organic and natural and won’t be until there is an organic standard for soap and make-up. I have read too many body shop labels and have yet to find anything even close to organic. They have some pretty toxic stuff in their ingredients on things that have the word organic on the label.
