Do the people who shop at organic grocery stores generally fit one of these descriptions?
I have noticed a pretty interesting clientele from visiting an organic grocery stores. I have seen guys who look like they are in a reggae band, guys wearing sandals with and or man purses, old ladies with long hair like Mrs. Keaton from Family Ties. Guys with long bears and a turban with ladies who have most of their face covered. I did not see any guys dressed like George Straight or like some trucker from Oklahoma. So do organic stores generally appeal to a certain clientele?
I’ve noticed the same thing as well. Besides the price of organic foods, the other difference is the fact that pestacides in the foods are lower. I just took an environmental science class and it turns out that we are using pestacides to keep bugs out of the foods and when we consume the vegetables we also consume the pestacides. Similarly with animals who consumes the pestacides such as mice or worms. A worm eats the vegetable with its high levels of pestecides and then a bird eats the worm, taking in pestecides which it stores in its tissue and some how this cycle ends up with humans eating more and more of the pestecides. However, I have noticed that a certain type or look of person shops for these products. I tried it but I agree, foods already crazy expensive as is and the truth is that we are overly concerned about so many things that "could" potentially harm us that if we continued at this rate we won’t have anything to eat!!!
