organic shop Archives

Not talking about veg or local produce so please don’t suggest the age old ‘veg box’ scheme which, from what I have seen, always contain old produce.
I have found a really good tomato ketchup in Lidl of all places and would willingly add it to a list of recommendations for organic groceries.

…and shop at Vons or Safeway?
Are you a bulk buyer and shop at Costco or Sam’s Club? Or are you the cheaper the better and shop at Wal-Mart? Maybe in the area where you live you don’t get a choice.

where can i find organic reusable grocery bags?

I want to save the Earth real bad! And well i guess that using an organic shopping bag is better than using plastic bags that end up in the oceans thats also killing our planet so I was thinking maybe walmart or something near by and that everybody knows about please best answer gets 10 points!!!

At the grocery store! You can and should simply answer the checkout question ‘Paper or Plastic" by saying ‘Paper.’ Paper is made of biodegradeable cellulosic wood fiber which is 100% organic and can be refolded and taken back to the store on your next shopping trip for reuse. More likely, however, you can add your grocery bags to your pile of corrugated (brown) boxes for recycling. This is a good way to reuse the bag. Grocery bags contain some of the strongest paper fibers available for paper mills to use in recycling, and can be reused more times than something weaker like newspapers. They are in high demand as a secondary fiber for the paper industry. Incidentally, plastic bags are also 100% organic (although not really biodegradeable) as they are made from oil which is the result of vegetative decay (several million years worth) so you should be careful in how you use the word ‘organic.’
