im trying to look for everything organic for my baby
i understand that it can be expensive. but i would like all natural things for my child. nothing with artificial stuff or bleach that can harm my baby’s sensitive skin.

I have a science homework and I have to write in a journal what I’ve eaten for a week. She wants us to classify each food inorganic or organic. Is apple juice BOUGHT in a grocery store organic or inorganic? Help.

Everytime me and my husband go to our local health food store , we spend no less then $80-100. Just with a few things. If i could afford it, i would buy all my food and house hold items organic/eco friendly. Im wondering if anyone out there knows what kind of numbers a small family owned health food/organic grocery store or market makes?

Let me start out with saying, I’m really particular about what I eat. I don’t drink anything but water, stay away from ice cream, donuts, chocolate etc. Not because I dislike them I just feel disgusting after I eat them. But anyway what is the best organic health store? I eat a lot of whole grains, pasta, veggies, fruit, yogurt, nuts, beans and lots of protein and fiber. I’m also vegetarian. I was thinking of switching to Whole Foods for my shopping…is there a place better than that? Thanks(:

Most grocery stores sell organic foods now. Since you didn’t mention what area you live in I can’t really suggest anything but Whole Foods.

Organic apples always moldy in the grocery store?

My local grocery store has a decent produce selection, but I’ve recently started buying organic apples and noticed that they almost always have a tiny bit of mold on the bottom. I can buy non-organic apples from the same store and keep them for at least a week and they stay good. Please don’t suggest Whole Foods or Trader Joes. It is just not convenient for me to make a special trip to a store that isn’t near me and where I can’t find my typical grocery items. Are my options limited to either pesticides or mold?

Not every organic fruits means they good . When they expensive, they will try sell expired organic fruits even thru they know it going make someone sick but they ain’t gotta be responsible 4 it. You buy it, then you are responsible. Organic can be good if they don’t have mold on it.

Organic only means no arfication color or pesticide anything like that in chemically (internal). Unless it is dropped on floor or something happen to it’s outter.

You have to be careful and look at outter too! You were only concerning abt internal that has no pesticides, probably you thought it would not have mold or something. It was only internal that has pesticide , it DOES NOT stop MOLD unless there a chemical.

Will it indicate on the food label if it is a GMO or not? Can GMO’s affect our health in serious ways?

In UK, France, all of Europe, Australia, NZ, etc etc GMo foods are required by LAW to be labelled GMO.

In America there is NO SUCH LAW.
And most foods, at least a HUGE amount of foods rice corn peas soy- are GMO.

Please watch "the Future of Food", it is very scary. YEs GMO food is absolutely terrible.

They take DNA from one type of food and inject it into another food DNA to create a tomato that doesn’t go bad, a corn that has instant bug killer in its genes- if a bug lands on the corn it dies, the GMO has genettically injected killer poison into the gene of the corn- no need to spray the crops- this is STANDARD practice. Think about that eating the corn, peas, wheat.
ALL GMO food is made this way purely to make it last longer on the shelf, no spoilage, no bugs etc.

It is a scary scary process.

I am a vegetarian and I just recently read an article that some organic products that say they are organic really are not. Just curious do you know who really sells organic by-products? I will eat dairy, eggs, cheese etc. if the animals are treated well but I just don’t know what stores to trust anymore.
yes I did mean that sorry for the confusion but I thought you would understand what I meant

"Organic" has nothing to do with treatment of animals. It just means they haven’t been fed any antibiotics or growth hormones. Perhaps you’re confusing "organic" with "free range" or "pasture raised" animals?

ADDED: The package label will indicate if it’s "free range" or "pasture raised." They’re quite a bit more expensive, so they post it on the label. I see free range eggs in my local WalMart. I haven’t noticed any free range cheese or dairy, though. You might do an internet search and see if there’s a local brand in your area.
